What do I collect?
Partly liveChoosing species means reconciling three lists — what historically grew on a site, what ex situ collections already hold, and which workhorse species restoration projects reliably establish. This workflow reads occurrence records, collection inventories, and restoration outcomes together, so a project targets the gaps instead of re-collecting what's already safe.
Occurrence and taxon data already stream into the new laukahi.org from GBIF.
Species lookup
Working demonstratorType a species and this page queries two real sources at once: the shared Laukahi database, and GBIF's public occurrence API filtered to Hawaiʻi. The funded gap analysis reads these same sources against ex situ collection inventories.
