Laukahi Commonsa Hoʻōla ʻĀina FY27 proposal

How long will it keep?

Built by this proposal

Orthodox, temperature-sensitive, or recalcitrant — a species' storage behavior sets how it must be banked and when it must be re-collected. The methods for modeling viability decline are proven and published; this workflow brings them to the network as per-species guidance, so re-collection is scheduled by evidence instead of anniversary.

The modeling approach is validated against the community-standard R implementation — the science is settled; this proposal funds its delivery.

Working demonstrator

Seed lots lose viability on a probit curve. Drag the sliders and the model recomputes instantly — this is the method the funded work calibrates per species, turning storage behavior into re-collection schedules. Constants shown are illustrative; the math is not.

Falls below 50% viability at ~13.5 years — the evidence-based re-collection trigger.
