Where do I collect?
Partly liveA collector planning a trip needs landowner and access context, protected-area boundaries, climate context, and the seed-transfer and population-reference zones that determine whether material from one place belongs in another. Today those answers live in separate agencies, PDFs, and personal knowledge. This workflow puts them on one map.
The mapping stack behind this workflow already runs on the new laukahi.org — protected areas, climate context, ʻōhiʻa seed zones with a GeoJSON service, and population reference zones are in the shared database today.
The collection map
Working demonstratorEvery layer draws live from the shared database. Click a feature for its full record; click anywhere else and the database’s own zone functions answer for that point. Switch to imagery to see the actual terrain a collection trip covers. The funded layers (landowner access, statewide seed zones for all species) join this exact canvas.
